YAGB tour recap and other fun news!

After 2.5 weeks on the road, I’m (finally) home!

TheΒ Young Authors Give Back tour was exhausting, but a huge success. We visited a bunch of cities, did some sight-seeing, and sold books. But without a doubt, my favorite part of the tour was the reason we did it in the first place: the giving back.

Meeting with young writers and talking to them about craft and publishing was incredibly rewarding. So many of the teens we met with were super talented, not to mention fearless. Their writing was pure and daring, not yet weighted down by their inner editors or publishing woes. I’m so glad we hosted these free writing workshops. I hope they were as inspiring for the teens who attended them as they were for me.

Other fun highlights included attending BEA, meeting readers, being interviewed on live TV, seeing news of the tour in print, and doing it all with three of my best friends!

Susan wrote a fabulous recap post of the tour on PubCrawl, so rather than repeat it all here, click through if you’re looking for even more details. I also made a photo album of all our events/stops that you can check out via facebook if you’d rather the visual recap.

While the tour was amazing, I am so very glad to be home. It’s nice to have a routine again, and seeing as I need to get my butt in gear and finish drafting book three, this works in my favor. Also, I missed the Engineer.

But before I dive into my drafting cave for weeks on end, I want to take a quick moment to share some fun news:

1) I’ll reveal FROZEN’s cover this week! Friday, to be exact. Over on PubCrawl. (Spoiler: it’s gorgeous)

2) I’m writing an e-novella in the TAKEN universe! It’s probably going to be Bree’s story, a prequel of sorts, but don’t quote me on that. At the moment, the only thing I can say for certain is that it will release on February 4th from HarperTeen’s new Impulse line, and I am super excited to start working on it. You can preorder the novella on amazon and add it to your shelf on goodreads. Yay!

3) I have one final panel/signing this month and would love to see you there! If you live in or near Keene, NH, I’ll be at Toadstool Bookshop on 6/28 (6:30pm) with YA author Page Morgan (THE BEAUTIFUL AND THE CURSED) to answer reader questions and sign copies of our books. Full details here.

Phew. I think that’s it for now.

Time to dive back into Book 3. See you folks on the other side…
