Favorite Books of 2014

This blog has been woefully silent these past few months, but I did have a baby, so I hope you can forgive me.

I can’t believe 2014 is nearly over. I have lots to look forward to in 2015. Baby Bowman is already growing like a weed and I’m sure there will be tons of ‘firsts’ happening in the days to come. I also have two books coming out next year: FORGED, the final installment in the TAKEN trilogy, and VENGEANCE ROAD, my standalone western! FORGED will hit shelves April 14th and VENGEANCE ROAD will be out September 1st! I also just saw a cover for VR–holy gorgeousness!–and can’t wait til I can share it, but enough about my books…

I want to discuss some of my favorite YA reads of 2014. If you’re looking for a last minute gift ideas, consider these my official book-shopping suggestions. (You can click through any book to see my full-length review.)

Yes, yes, yes to THE WINNER’S CRIME. I cannot wait to read that book! And I’m horrified to admit that I’ve yet to read two of your contemp faves: EVERYTHING LEADS TO YOU and THE VANISHING SEASON. Must remedy that soon! My favorite reads of 2014 are I’LL GIVE YOU THE SUN, LET’S GET LOST, and AN UNTAMED STATE. Hope you have a very happy holiday season, Erin! <3

    1. I bought I’LL GIVE YOU THE SUN and just haven’t gotten to it yet, otherwise, I’m sure it would have been on my list as well. I think you’ll LOVE those two contemps, especially ELtY. Oh, and let’s chat after we’ve devoured THE WINNER’S CRIME next year. The wait is killing me. Happy holidays!! 🙂

Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Mass was also one of my favorite fantasy reads of 2014. The world that Sarah has wielded together is amazing and I can’t get enough of it. I really like the magic aspect that she weaved into the story, but i also find it interesting that she made it so magic doesn’t work/ banned from the Kingdom which is one of Dorian and Celeana’s problems throughout the book. I loved that book, but that ending was so good but at the same time it was heartbreaking. I can’t wait for the Queen of Shadows to be released this upcoming fall its going to be epic!! Another one of my favorite fantasies that I read in 2014 was Snow like Ashes, which was Sara Raasch, I loved the world in that book and really enjoyed the giant plot twist at the end, I would defiantly recommend it.
